East Memphis Real Estate The broad expanse referred to as East Memphis which extends from East Parkway to the outer leg of the I-240 loop. For the most part the East Memphis area of the Memphis real estate market was built during the 1950s-1970s time frame. However, many new homes and updates to existing  homes keep the area smart and growing. In East Memphis proper, the most concentrated wealth is in Chickasaw Gardens , Belle Meade (Oak Court, which includes Tuckahoe, Cherry, and West Cherry Roads), and Red Acres (Galloway, overlooking Galloway Golf Course).

Oak-Court the Memphis Area's Upscale shopping mall is surrounded by some of the best places to live and could be considered at the heart of East-Memphis-Oak-Court-008MMemphis because it contains the major upscale shopping centers and three of the most sought after subdivisions; Belle Meade, Laurelwood and The Village.

White-Station-East-Memphis 001All the major elements of the White Station area business district can be seen in the picture to the left. The most prominent is the White Station tower office building (formally Clark Tower) which can be seen from most parts of Memphis with an elevated clear view. Along side is the Independence Bank building (formally UP bank building) while not as tall it still dominates the landscape to form twin towers. Its easy to get your bearings in this area. Another feature is the railroad tracks which parallels Poplar avenue in close proximity much to the consternation of drivers.
Poplar avenue divides the landscape here into White Station residential district on the north side and Colonial on the South. The East Gate shopping center on the south side of Poplar serves both areas. Because of its central location, many businesses that cater to the entire metro area are located along Poplar and the feeder streets that connect to Poplar making all of East Memphis prime real estate.
There are many of Memphis’s best restaurants in the area along with a large Movie complex called the Paradiso. The Racquet club for tennis is a great facility for meetings, weddings receptions and serves the Metro area. With this being the geographic center of the entire Region, there is something for everyone no matter what you are looking for.
